My name is Lucy, I am a wife and mother to two gorgeous boys, in my thirties and living in Whitstable, Kent.
This blog is all about my life, being a mum, having a career, striving to have a nice home, being a good wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend all the while suffering with mental health issues. I have depression, anxiety and self esteem issues and I write openly and honestly about my struggles. I try to spread awareness of the stigma still attached to mental health issues and document my life on the beautiful Kent Coast.
I have been a columnist for local newspapers, a contributor to the Huffington Post and also write on a freelance basis for magazines and websites. More recently I have started running sessions called ‘Talking about Mental Health’ where I share my experiences and offer tips for maintaining positive wellbeing and assisting you in your day to day life with your mental health. These have only been run locally so far but I would happily go anywhere that people would like to listen to me so if you want to get in touch for me to write or speak for you I would love to hear from you.
I am a trained youth mentor, a Time to Change Campaign Champion for Kent, an avid instagrammer taking pictures of anything that makes me happy and I also work thirty hours a week in my ‘day job’.
